An Evidence-based Approach to Pressure Care – 1 Day Course

Pressure Care is everyone’s responsibility, therefore this course is aimed at all social care staff with a hands on role.

This is a unique course that looks at traditional interventions versus evidence based practices. It takes you on a journey looking at Pressure Care management from an holistic person centred prospective. It evaluates a range of assessment tools. Delegates will have the opportunity to look at equipment specifically designed to aid prevention.

Delegates will learn to describe the categories, types and treatment of pressure ulcers. They will also be able  to identify the risk factors and necessary control measures that will need to be put in place.

Supporting Healthier Outcomes

Pressure care management is a fundamental element when delivering excellent care. This course will explore the impact that activities of daily living have on pressure ulcers, deterioration and healing techniques working towards a holistic approach towards pressure care.

Delegates will be taken through three core activities:

Assess – Assessing the benefits, limitations of traditional assessment tools compared to modern methods and examining evidence based best practice to create person centred pathways

Achieve – Examine the factors that affect individuals outcomes utilising nationally recognised Holistic initiatives to explore the role that nutrition, continence, moving and handling and equipment play in achieving compliance

Advance – Effectively applying Holistic person centred strategies to create a preventative, proactive systems to maintain healthier outcomes.
