This course is designed to refresh the delegate’s  knowledge and understanding of the reasons for safe manual handling procedures, regulations and legislation, the need for manual handling risk assessments and how they relate to improving health & safety. It also identifies how these safe manual handling principles can be put into everyday practice. Covers all the necessary theoretical and practical elements to ensure your staff comply with best practice and deliver safe dignified care.

This course is generally delivered in-house or at one of our dedicated venues in Cumbria, Preston or Blackpool.

This half day Safer Moving & Handling in Health & Social Care Refresher course is delivered by a team of Specialist Registered Nurses, and Healthcare Professionals. All are occupationally competent in the health and social care sector, and subject specialists in the field of Moving & Handling, giving a ‘hands on’ experience for delegates. All trainers are registered with National Back Exchange. Irrespective of the service group you support. It is designed to provide sound theoretical knowledge and give delegates the opportunity to practice a wide range of techniques and use equipment with one or two handlers.

Handling training in the following area’s:

  • Paediatric handling
  • Complex handling

This course is designed to support delegates who have already completed their Care Certificate specifically standards 3, 5 and 13.
